Sarda Wines was founded from a lifelong connection to hospitality, culture and the table. What began in a family-run restaurant in Wales has grown into a mission to share the true wines of Sardinia with the world.
Raised in Restaurants
Growing up in Wales, in a family-run restaurant led by a Sardinian father, the kitchen was both classroom and playground. From an early age, service, ingredients and atmosphere were absorbed instinctively ... not taught, but lived.
That early immersion led naturally into professional kitchens, and eventually to taking over the family restaurant. There, modern Italian cooking was refined, and Sardinian cuisine was introduced to Wales in a way few had experienced before.
Food was always the starting point. Wine soon followed.
Sardinian at Heart
With a Sardinian father and Welsh mother, summers were always spent on the island. Growing up bilingual and culturally rooted in both places created something unique; a bridge between Wales and Sardinia.
As Sardinian dishes entered the restaurant, so did its wines. Indigenous varieties like Cannonau, Vermentino and Nuragus revealed a depth and character rarely seen outside the island. Curiosity became passion. Passion became focus.
The Turning Point
Importing wines directly for the restaurant led to a close and enduring relationship with Cantina di Dolianova; one of southern Sardinia’s most respected producers.
During the COVID period, necessity sparked innovation. What began as a way to continue sharing these wines beyond the restaurant evolved into something far bigger: Sarda Wines.
No longer simply a side project, it became a clear mission.
New Beginnings
With the opportunity to work directly alongside producers and represent Sardinian wine properly on the global stage, the decision was made to relocate to Sardinia and dedicate fully to wine.
Hanging up the chef’s apron was not an ending ... it was a natural evolution.
Why Sarda Wines Exists
Sarda Wines exists to champion authentic Sardinian wines, selected through a chef’s lens, rooted in food, place and tradition.
The goal is simple: To give Sardinian wine the recognition it deserves, and to connect people, once again, through the table.
